w-still life #5 pinks-m is part of a series of works made solely using washi tape on paper to create representations of daily life objects, while simultaneously questioning what makes a still life and what a still life has to look like. 

The problem set out for this work was to create an image with a monochrome limited pallet and set of patterns to create the composition. The patterns and colors are still manipulated in a way to reference color, light and shadow. The additional challenge was to use one main washi tape (orange spotted) for shadows and line work, without the composition becoming confusing to the eye.
